Provides direct outpatient psychiatric services through comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, treatment planning, counseling, and psychopharmacological treatment of assigned pediatric and adult (<26yo) patients.
- Must have current licensure as psychiatric nurse practitioner in the State of Massachusetts, current licensures with the DEA and State of Massachusetts for controlled substances (Buprenorphine licensure mandatory), and current certification with Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Certification (PMHNP-BC).
- Must possess knowledge of the standard principles and practices of diagnosing and treating (via psychotherapy and psychopharmacology) of mental disorders described in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (DSM); also, keeps current with developments in psychiatry via the literature, conferences, Internet, etc. Motivation to prescribe psychopharmacological medications carefully with the aim of maximizing patient benefit while avoiding/minimizing adverse effects and untoward drug interactions.
- Must have outstanding planning and implementation skills, a strategic approach to problem-solving, a strong working knowledge of data-reporting and analysis skills, and sound interpersonal skills.
- Must be computer literate in standard desktop applications, such as Windows, Word, and Excel.
