About the Role:
Beth Aviva Preminger MD PLLC is looking for a skilled and passionate Plastic Surgery Medical Assistant to join our team in New York, NY. Responsibilities:
- Assist the physician during plastic and reconstructive surgery consultations and in-office procedures
- Prepare and maintain exam rooms, surgical trays, and sterile fields
- Take and document patient vital signs, medical histories, and pre/post-operative instructions
- Coordinate patient scheduling, follow-up appointments, and surgical prep communications
- Administer injections, wound care, and post-operative dressing changes as directed
- Manage patient records and ensure accurate documentation in EMR systems
- Provide compassionate patient education regarding procedures, recovery, and aftercare
Requirements:
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred
- Prior experience in plastic surgery, dermatology, or a surgical specialty strongly preferred
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems and medical office workflows
- Knowledge of sterile technique, wound care, and post-operative protocols
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-first attitude
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- BLS/CPR certification required or ability to obtain upon hire
