Role Description The Director is a full-time, on-site role based in Cincinnati, OH, responsible for leading strategic initiatives that advance The Health Collaborative’s mission across Workforce Innovation, Emergency Preparedness, and Community Health. This role oversees program planning and execution, sets goals and performance metrics, and ensures projects are aligned with organizational priorities and member needs. The Director manages and mentors staff, coordinates cross-functional teams, and fosters strong relationships with member organizations, community partners, and public agencies. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing and monitoring budgets, preparing reports and presentations for executive leadership and stakeholders, and securing resources through grants, partnerships, and other funding opportunities. The Director also represents the organization in regional meetings, collaboratives, and public forums, promotes best practices, and continuously evaluates programs for impact and improvement.
Qualifications
  • Demonstrated leadership and people management skills, including the ability to guide teams, mentor staff, and build collaborative, inclusive work environments.
  • Strategic planning and program management experience, with skills in setting objectives, managing timelines and budgets, and tracking outcomes and impact.
  • Stakeholder engagement and partnership-building abilities, including working effectively with hospitals, community organizations, business partners, and public agencies.
  • Strong communication skills, such as clear written and verbal communication, presentation skills, and the ability to tailor messaging for diverse audiences.
  • Experience in healthcare, public health, or related sectors, with familiarity in workforce development, emergency preparedness, or community health initiatives.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to interpret data, evaluate program performance, and recommend improvements.
  • Comfort with using technology and collaboration tools for project management, reporting, and stakeholder communication.
  • Bachelor’s degree in public health, health administration, business, social sciences, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Ability to work on-site in Cincinnati, OH, with occasional regional travel for partner meetings and community events.
