BestMind Behavioral Health is seeking an experienced Behavioral Health Coder & Revenue Cycle Management Specialist to join our team in OR & WA. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with medical billing and coding for behavioral health, insurance eligibility and benefits verification, prior authorizations, and comprehensive A/R management, including claims follow-up, denials, reconsiderations, and appeals.
This role is responsible for reviewing chart notes for accurate documentation and coding before claim submission, covering Evaluation & Management (E/M) services, Psychotherapy, Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), and Spravato treatments. Additional responsibilities include posting and reconciling insurance payments, investigating underpayments and discrepancies, managing billing-related communications with patients and insurance payers, and assisting with light credentialing tasks to support provider onboarding.
Qualified candidates must have strong knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, modifiers, and US payer requirements, alongside a solid understanding of A/R and prior authorization workflows. Experience with EHR Practice Management Systems (AdvancedMD is a plus) and prior experience coding E/M visits, TMS, and Spravato are highly preferred. Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and strong written and verbal English communication skills are required to collaborate effectively in a remote team environment.
This position is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM PST, with weekends off. The role is primarily remote, with occasional requests to work at one of our offices and attend meetings. Salary will be discussed based on experience and qualifications.
