Caregiver/Med Tech Multiple Days / Shifts - Assisted Living

At Bestcare Assisted Living, our staff is responsible for providing the utmost in quality care and services to our clients and their families in our assisted living homes. We are looking for an experienced and compassionate caregiver to join our team at our facilities in Reisterstown. The shifts available for this full time position are three or four 12 hour (7:30AM - 7:30PM) day shifts per week. There is a $2000 signing bonus for this position.

Responsibilities:

- The day shift is conducted with two or three Caregivers/Med Techs. The individual should have the maturity, independence, and confidence to work the shift as part of a team, and hand over responsibilities to the next shift with quality.

- Take the initiative to ensure all resident requirements are met, the facility stays in regulatory compliance at all times, interact with families as needed, and be self-driven in their duties when the manager is not on site.

- Ensure all ADLs are completed, ensure all regulatory requirements are met regarding MARs, and report any issues/opportunities for improvement to the house manager.

- Provide assistance with activities of daily living, attend to individual care needs
- Notify management of changes in condition or adjustments in the level of care
- Assist residents during the day with all manner of care needs consistent with an Assisted Living Facility.

- Assist in and prepare meals. Quality and variety of food is a priority at Bestcare due to its importance to our residents. A la carte breakfasts and menu flexibility is in place to allow you to bring your personality and favorite family recipes to our facilities, including desserts!

- Aid in the transition of care to the shift team at the end of your shift

- Responsible for light cleaning / organizing during the shift, ensuring the home stays in compliance with OSHA requirements and adherence to Bestcare's safety rules and regulations.

- Provides light snacks / drinks upon request of the residents

Qualifications:

• Dedication to and passion to serve seniors with excellent customer service skills
• Positive attitude, the flexibility to perform various duties in service to the residents and the ability to work in a team environment are keys to success
• High School diploma/GED accepted
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Physically fit and capable of helping clients and strong enough to aid in lifting them.
• Previous experience working with the elderly a plus but not required.
• Experience and qualifications of working in a commercial kitchen or preparing large home cooked meals preferred but not required.
• Ability to make choices, decisions and act in the resident’s best interest
• Possess written and verbal skills for effective communication and a level of understanding
• Demonstrate good judgment, problem solving and decision making skills

At least one year experience working as a caregiver and an active CMT license preferred (and showing on MBON website). Wages are dependent on qualifications and experience. As part of a small and close knit team, extra shifts may be available as well.

Pay: $17.50 - $19.50 per hour
