Facility Maintenance Technician
Indianapolis, IN | Temporary | $17/hour
Shift: 1st Shift, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
About the Role
BESTAFF is hiring a Facility Maintenance Technician for a growing production facility in Indianapolis, IN. You'll keep equipment running safely and efficiently through hands-on electrical and mechanical repairs, preventive maintenance, and everyday problem-solving. If you're mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and take pride in a clean, well-maintained shop, we want to hear from you.
What You'll Do
- Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on production and engineering equipment, including installing equipment, worktables, and tools
- Maintain calibration of measurement and test equipment, including all applicable records
- Follow standard operating procedures and instructions from site leadership
- Keep maintenance logs, checklists, and inspection records up to date
- Keep tools and test equipment in good, serviceable condition
- Fabricate and assemble production fixtures
- Submit supply requests to keep production equipment running efficiently
- Monitor and adjust chemical baths, safely handling chemical storage and disposal
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
What You Bring
- High school diploma or GED required; technical/mechanical coursework or apprenticeship a plus
- 1 year of maintenance experience in an industrial environment
- Hands-on familiarity with electrical and mechanical systems
- Ability to use precision measuring tools and equipment
- Ability to distinguish between red, orange, yellow, blue, green, and violet
- Strong manual dexterity and hand-to-eye coordination
- Comfortable with basic math (ratios, percentages, fractions) and simple Excel formulas
- Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly in English
