Field Service Technician III
Job Type: Variable-Hour Hourly Employee (W2)
Location: Nationwide travel required (Headquarters in Dallas, TX.)
✅Position Summary
FST3 serves as an Experienced Technician and Onsite Lead responsible for Executing and Coordinating Complex Maintenance and Repair activities for BESS, Inverters, and Power Systems.
This role bridges the gap between technicians and engineers and plays a key leadership role onsite.
Responsibilities
Site Support & Execution
- Support installation, commissioning assistance, and onsite inspections for BESS, inverters, and power equipment
- Perform basic troubleshooting under guidance
- Follow SOPs to complete rework tasks (e.g., harness replacement, board swaps, cooling system work).
- Support fault diagnostics under engineers and gradually transition to independent problem-solving.
- Collect site data, photos, and daily activity logs accurately
- Execute tasks assigned by the onsite lead (FST3 / Engineer)
Safety & Compliance
- Follow company and client safety requirements including PPE, LOTO, and electrical safety protocols
- Participate in daily job briefings and hazard assessments
- Report any safety risks or abnormal conditions immediately
Team Coordination
- Work collaboratively with the onsite team
- Write basic documents (daily report and checklist etc.)
- Communicate progress, delays, and technical issues promptly to both internal and external
- Maintain professional communication with supervisors and site personnel
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3 years plus of experience in electrical, mechanical, industrial, solar, BESS, construction, or related field work.
- Ability to travel extensively (70%–100%)
- Ability to lift 50 lbs or more
- Basic electrical or mechanical aptitude
- Skilled with common tools and safe operation practices
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn
- Able to read SOPs, checklists, and basic diagrams
- Strong learning ability and problem-solving mindset
- Valid driver’s license.
Preferred
- OSHA 10/30, NFPA 70E, or electrical certifications
- Veterans or trade-skill backgrounds encouraged to apply
- Basic electrical measurement experience (voltage/current testing).
- Forklift/Skid steer
- Experience on utility-scale sites (solar, BESS, heavy electrical)
