Duties
- Perform preventative maintenance on machinery, electrical systems, and facility infrastructure to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues using schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters
- Operate programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to diagnose faults and support automation processes
- Conduct welding repairs and fabrications as needed to maintain equipment integrity
- Assist with residential painting projects to ensure facility aesthetics meet standards
- Use Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) software to document work orders, track maintenance history, and schedule future tasks
Skills/ experience needed:
- Technical Skills-Candidates should be "jacks-of-all-trades" with proficiency in:
- Plumbing & Electrical: Repairing toilets, sinks, and basic lighting fixtures.
- HVAC: Troubleshooting heating and cooling systems (HVAC certification is a major plus).
- General Repair: Painting, drywall patching, carpentry, and flooring.
- Preventative Maintenance: Executing scheduled checks on machinery and guest rooms to prevent breakdowns.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (some roles require up to 100 lbs), as well as bending, stooping, and reaching.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work a varied schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Driver’s License: A valid license is often required, especially if the role includes operating guest shuttles.
- Computer Literacy: Basic skills for managing digital work orders or facilities management software.
- Communication: Professional and personable demeanor when interacting with guests.
- Problem-Solving: The ability to handle guest complaints and urgent maintenance requests quickly and efficiently.
Lead Maintenance Requirements:
- EPA/HVAC Certification: (e.g., Section 608 Universal) for handling refrigerants.
- CPO (Certified Pool Operator): Necessary for maintaining hotel pools to health department standards.
- OSHA 10/30: A strong understanding of occupational safety and health standards.
- Supervise junior maintenance staff or contractors during projects, ensuring safety protocols and quality standards are met
