Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the housekeeping staff to ensure efficient daily operations, including cleaning, floor care, and maintenance of guest rooms, suites, public areas, and back-of-house spaces.
- Develop and implement cleaning schedules and protocols that adhere to industry standards for hygiene and safety.
- Oversee the training of staff on proper cleaning techniques, use of cleaning equipment, safety procedures, and customer service expectations.
- Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms and public areas to ensure cleanliness, organization, and presentation meet brand standards.
- Oversee daily laundry operations, ensuring timely processing of linens and towels and that all linens are stain free.
- Manage inventory levels of cleaning supplies, linens, amenities, and equipment; place orders as needed to maintain operational efficiency.
- Coordinate with maintenance teams to address repairs or issues affecting cleanliness or safety promptly.
- Enforce health and safety regulations related to cleaning procedures, chemical handling, and sanitation practices.
- Foster a positive team environment by motivating staff, providing feedback, and encouraging professional development.
- Maintain detailed records of housekeeping activities, incident reports, inventory logs, and staff schedules.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure guest requests are fulfilled swiftly and effectively.
Skills
- Proven experience in hotel housekeeping management or custodial leadership within a hospitality setting.
- Strong knowledge of cleaning techniques including floor care (carpet cleaning, polishing), industrial cleaning methods, and janitorial practices.
