Duties
- Greet customers warmly, listen carefully to their vehicle concerns, and provide expert guidance on necessary repairs and maintenance.
- Write detailed service orders and estimates using estimating software, ensuring clarity and transparency for customers.
- Communicate effectively with technicians regarding diagnostics, repairs, and parts needed to facilitate efficient service delivery.
- Upsell additional services such as oil changes, tire rotations, brake repairs, alignments, suspension work, shocks & struts, transmissions, and maintenence repairs to maximize customer value.
- Manage appointment scheduling to optimize shop workflow while minimizing wait times for customers.
- Handle customer inquiries professionally via phone or in person, providing updates on vehicle status and explaining repair procedures clearly.
- Process payments accurately through cash handling procedures while maintaining integrity and accountability throughout transactions.
Skills
- Proven experience in automotive service advising or dealership service departments with a strong understanding of auto repair processes.
- Mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems including engines, transmissions, brakes, suspensions, tires, shocks & struts, alignments, and repair techniques.
- Familiarity with estimating software and computer-aided vehicle damage estimating tools for accurate quoting.
- Excellent client communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues in simple terms and build rapport with diverse customers.
- Strong sales aptitude with a focus on upselling services that improve vehicle safety and performance.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in service writing and documentation.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; willingness to drive company vehicles when necessary.
