Position Overview:
As a Forklift Operator at BWT Logistics, you will play a vital role in the daily operations of our warehouse facility. Your primary responsibility will be to safely and efficiently operate a sit-down forklift to move, stack, load, and unload various materials, products, and equipment. You will collaborate with the warehouse team to ensure the timely and accurate movement of goods while maintaining high productivity and adhering to safety protocols.
Responsibilities:
- Operate sit-down forklifts to transport, load, unload, and stack materials or products within the warehouse facility.
- Safely maneuver forklifts in narrow aisles, tight spaces, and congested areas, adhering to all safety guidelines.
- Perform routine maintenance checks on forklifts, reporting any issues or malfunctions to the supervisor.
- Verify and match received goods against purchase orders or delivery documents, ensuring accuracy and reporting discrepancies.
- Assist in loading and unloading trucks, ensuring proper placement and securing of materials.
- Utilize forklift attachments and accessories as needed to handle specific types of materials or products.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas, including aisles, shelves, and storage locations.
- Follow established inventory control procedures, accurately recording and updating inventory information.
- Collaborate with warehouse team members to fulfill customer orders, ensuring on-time delivery and satisfaction.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations, promoting a safe working environment.
- Provide support in other warehouse tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience operating sit-down forklifts safely and efficiently.
- Previous experience as a forklift operator in a warehousing or logistics environment.
- Forklift certification preferred.
- Strong knowledge of forklift operations, safety protocols, and warehouse procedures.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks in a warehouse setting.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
- Steel-toe boots are mandatory.
Working Hours:
- Schedule: Sunday through Friday, 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
- Time Off: Saturday and one additional scheduled day off during the week.
Benefits and Compensation:
- Hourly Rate: $20.00 per hour.
- Benefits: Available after 90 days, including health insurance, dental, vision, and ancillary benefits.
