We are a very fast paced and extremely busy 1 Doctor Veterinary Practice. We are looking for an Experienced Veterinary Receptionist with knowledge in the Veterinary Field. We are looking for top notch customer service, appointment scheduling, checking in/out clients, updating reminders, and answering the phone with a friendly "Hello". Some personality traits we are looking for are being able to handle everything in a calm manner during stressful situations, ability to multitask, detail oriented, easy going and easily adaptable to changes. This role has the potential to grow into supervisory role to assist practice manager. Must be able to think quick on the job and stay calm under stressful client facing situations.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Answering the telephone, direct, screen calls, take and relay messages
- Provide accurate information to callers
- Schedule appointments for all hospital services
- Greet clients and pets in a friendly, open manner
- Ensure that clients are handled in a timely, efficient manner according to their appointment time, this includes incoming emergencies/acute patients or clients with time constraints
- Provide general clerical, administrative, and accounting support
- Maintain accurate client records by verifying the information on file and following hospital procedures for all clients checking in and out
- Maintain the common areas of the office for cleanliness
- Call to confirm and make upcoming client appointments
- Follow up calls to clients after their appointment to ensure that their pet(s) is doing well following an appointment
- Communication on any customer service issues with practice manager so that they can handle the issue
- Follow up on cremations, surgical, and medical procedures
- Must be able to handle boxes and/or animals up to 100 pounds

- Role requires ability to work closely with practice manager and veterinarian with potential to become a supervisor/manager position to assist practice manager
- Ability to remain flexible and agile in fast decision making environment of a private single veterinarian practice
