Responsibilities
- Safely operate a range of passenger vehicles including vans, limousines, shuttle buses, and personal vehicles to transport clients or passengers on local routes.
- Follow all traffic laws and state transportation regulations to ensure safety and compliance during every trip.
- Use GPS navigation systems to plan optimal routes, adapt to traffic conditions, and ensure punctual arrivals.
- Assist passengers with boarding and alighting, providing excellent customer service and addressing any special needs or requests.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and basic maintenance checks to ensure vehicle safety and cleanliness.
- Communicate effectively with clients regarding pick-up times, routes, and any delays or changes in schedule.
- Handle heavy lifting when necessary for luggage or equipment while maintaining proper manual handling techniques.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a delivery driver, bus driver, chauffeur, or in similar passenger transportation roles such as shuttle driving or medical transportation.
- Valid driver’s license appropriate for the vehicle type (e.g., commercial driver’s license if required).
- Strong knowledge of local driving routes and GPS navigation tools.
- Demonstrated ability to adhere strictly to traffic regulations and safety standards.
- Excellent communication skills for client interaction and coordination with dispatch teams.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely and efficiently.
- Experience operating passenger vans, medical transport vehicles, or school buses is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of vehicle maintenance basics to identify issues early and ensure vehicle reliability.
