Role Description This is a part-time, on-site Science Teacher role located in Greenville, SC. The Science Teacher will plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned science lessons for middle and/or high school students, with a focus on building strong foundational understanding. Daily responsibilities include preparing lesson plans, teaching classes, assessing student progress, and providing differentiated support based on individual learning needs. The teacher will collaborate with staff to integrate mentoring and social-emotional learning into instruction, contribute to a safe and inclusive classroom environment, and communicate regularly with families and support teams. The role also involves participating in staff meetings, contributing to curriculum development, and maintaining accurate records of student performance and behavior.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated skills in Science Education, including the ability to explain complex scientific concepts clearly and accessibly.
- Content knowledge in Physics and related scientific disciplines sufficient to teach middle and/or high school courses.
- Recognition as a Qualified Teacher, with experience in Lesson Planning and implementing standards-based curricula.
- Bachelor’s degree in education, science, or a related field; teaching certification or licensure in South Carolina preferred.
- Experience working with diverse learners, including students who have experienced trauma or academic disengagement.
- Ability to build positive, respectful relationships with students, families, and colleagues, and to maintain a safe, inclusive classroom.
- Excellent communication, classroom management, and organizational skills; willingness to collaborate in a mentoring-focused environment.
