Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, suspensions, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
- Conduct routine maintenance including oil changes, tire service, alignment checks, and shock & strut replacements to keep vehicles in optimal condition.
- Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex issues with heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery.
- Fabricate parts or components as needed using welding, soldering, hand tools, and power tools to ensure proper fit and function.
- Operate heavy machinery safely during repairs or testing procedures to verify repairs or diagnose issues.
- Maintain detailed service records and documentation for all repairs and maintenance performed.
- Assist with assembly or disassembly of vehicle components during repairs or upgrades while adhering to safety standards.
Requirements
- Proven experience working as a diesel truck and trailer mechanic
- Strong mechanical knowledge across automotive diagnostics, engine repair, transmissions, air brake systems, hydraulics, suspension systems, HVAC systems, and wheel alignment.
- Hands-on experience with heavy equipment operation including excavators, cranes, forklifts, or similar machinery.
- Skilled in reading schematics and technical manuals for troubleshooting complex systems.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering techniques and other fabrication tools.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during repairs.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly.
- Certifications related to automotive repair or heavy equipment operation are a plus; dealership experience is highly valued.
