This supervisor provides direct supervision to program staff, promotes quality service delivery and engages families through supportive consultations, parent education, home visitation, school and community-based partnerships and activities.
Minimum Education, Experience and Other Skill Requirements:
- Minimum of a CDA or Associates degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or related field from an accredited college or university; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Will accept education and work experience that meets requirements for Career Pathways Level (CPL) 4 as outlined by Ohio’s Early Childhood Professional Development Network
- Experience in management or supervision is required.
- Minimum of 3 years experience in the Early Childhood field required with strong knowledge of early childhood developmentally appropriate practice.
- Must have the ability to work with a diverse population and build productive relationships.
- Must be flexible in work schedule and have strong communication and organizational skills
- Must possess minimum technical skills including familiarity with Microsoft Windows and ability to use standard Microsoft Office applications.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
Direct Client Service and Quality Effectiveness
- Recruits and registers families to participate in early learning programs. Assesses family and child needs to ensure referral to appropriate program.
- Establishes positive relationships, communicates with all families and handles parents’ concerns and complaints.
- Provides support and oversight to support a smooth transition from the child’s home to child care setting or to kindergarten. Administers and coordinates the use of developmental screening tools
- Researches, identifies and operationalizes best practice models for each program area.
- Ensures that credentialing standards are maintained and oversees credentialing process for FSN, SPARK and Kaleidoscope Play & Learn.
- Is a resource for families and staff and connects both to community resources. Follows-up on referrals.
- Responsible for the day-to-day management and oversight of operations within assigned program areas. Provides leadership and establishes effective means for managing and coordinating activities.
- Ensures accurate and timely completion of all required documentation and maintains all records in accordance with evidence-based guidelines, to include entering information into spreadsheets or data base systems.
- Works with Vice President to develop annual budget for program areas. Responsible for managing monthly expenses and adjusting targets based upon enrollment and actual revenue on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
- Attends community meetings and represents the agency in a positive manner. Reports to ECSA Vice President potential opportunities for program expansion. Provides input and oversight for new programs as requested.
- Promotes early learning and development projects and engages families through school and community-based partnerships and activities/events. Networks with other home visitation programs.
- Actively collaborates with other agency programs to share resources, expertise and to connects families to resources needed to strengthen their self-sufficiency and capacity to meet the need of their children. Oversees program promotional activities and participates in outreach or community events to assist with promotion of services.
