This role focuses on live haul, feed haul, grain, fertilizer, and other ag-based freight, developing new business opportunities while maintaining lasting relationships with farmers, producers, feed mills, processors, and carriers. - Identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities in the agricultural transportation sector, including live animal transport, feed, grain, and related commodities.
- Build and maintain relationships with farmers, growers, co-ops, feed mills, and processors to understand their logistics needs.
- Negotiate rates and service agreements that balance customer satisfaction with company profitability.
- Stay informed on market trends, seasonality, and agricultural production cycles to anticipate customer needs.
- Manage and grow a portfolio of accounts through consistent follow-up, customer service, and problem-solving.
- Proven track record of success in transportation sales, preferably within agricultural, live haul, or bulk feed markets.
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations, animal welfare standards, and agricultural transportation best practices.
- Proven ability to prospect, develop, and close new accounts.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
- Self-starter with strong organizational and time-management skills.
