Position Overview
The Fitness Director is responsible for overseeing all personal training operations, ensuring exceptional service, and driving departmental growth. This role involves leading and managing a team of Fitness Professionals while aligning department strategies with the company’s vision and goals. The Fitness Director also plays a key role in expanding the customer base, maximizing profitability, and enhancing the overall member experience.
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver outstanding customer service by optimizing the member experience.
• Lead by example and foster a customer-focused culture within the fitness department.
• Make effective decisions regarding customer service issues in accordance with company policies.
• Uphold and promote the unique value proposition of Best Fitness.
• Prepare and manage personal training agreements using ABC Datatrak.
• Process agreement changes and ensure proper documentation.
• Handle all register transactions related to personal training agreements.
• Develop and distribute sales materials for personal training services.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with current and prospective clients.
• Identify and resolve client concerns proactively.
• Track, follow up, and manage client engagement using Club OS.
• Meet and exceed monthly sales and retention targets.
• Oversee and resolve all customer complaints related to the personal training department.
• Recruit, hire, train, and develop a high-performing Fitness Professional team.
• Review department payroll reports for accuracy and compliance.
• Assess clients’ physical fitness levels and monitor progress.
• Design and implement personalized workout programs to meet client goals.
• Instruct and demonstrate proper equipment usage and exercise techniques.
• Ensure safe, clear, and concise instructions before and during workout sessions.
• Support clients by providing fitness and nutrition guidance, along with progress evaluations.
• Motivate clients to achieve their fitness objectives.
• Maintain professional competence through ongoing education and industry advancements.
• Proactively enhance member retention by fostering strong client relationships.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Education & Certifications
• High school diploma required; college degree preferred.
• Must hold at least one nationally accredited personal training certification from the following:
NSCA-CSCS, NSCA-CPT, ACE, NASM, ACSM, AFPA, NFPT, or PTA Global.
• CPR/AED certification (must obtain within three months of hire).
Experience Requirements
• Personal training experience required.
• Sales experience preferred.
• Management experience preferred.
Physical Requirements
• Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods.
• Ability to reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Ability to lift and move up to 75 pounds.
Salary : $80,000 - $120,000
