We are growing our shop in Jackson, Michigan and looking for an experienced heavy-equipment mechanic to join us.
The Role
As a Cat Rebuild Technician, you will perform full teardowns, inspections, and rebuilds of Caterpillar landfill compactors, dozers, and related earthmoving equipment. This is hands-on shop work for someone who takes pride in doing the job right and wants steady, skilled work close to home.
What You Will Do
- Disassemble, inspect, and rebuild Cat compactors, dozers, and heavy earthmoving equipment
- Diagnose and repair engines, hydraulics, powertrains, and undercarriage systems
- Work to OEM specifications and quality standards on every rebuild
- Document work and communicate findings clearly with the shop team
What We Are Looking For
- Experience as a heavy-equipment or diesel mechanic, ideally with Caterpillar machines
- Cat-certified or rebuild experience strongly preferred
- Strong diagnostic skills across engines, hydraulics, and powertrains
- Your own hand tools (we help with the rest, see below)
- A reliable, safety-minded teammate who takes ownership of their work
