Role Purpose
The Digital Marketing Analyst responsible for the operational governance, performance, stability, and security oversight of Best Doctors Insurance’s digital ecosystem.
This role serves as:
- Internal product owner of BDI’s four corporate websites
- Day-to-day supervisor of the external Web Management & Hosting agency
- Marketing liaison to IT and Cybersecurity for digital platform governance
- Owner of digital performance reporting (web, email, social, WhatsApp)
- Guardian of digital operational risk and vendor accountability
This is a technically strong, operations-focused role — not a brand or creative marketing position.
The objective of this role is to ensure digital stability, enforce vendor performance standards, reduce operational risk, and enable marketing leadership to focus on strategic growth initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
1. Website & Digital Platform Ownership (Core Responsibility)
Act as the internal operational owner of BDI’s four WordPress-based corporate websites:
- bestdoctorsinsurance.com
- bd-atlas.com
- bestdoctors.ec
- bestdoctorsinsurance.ca
Ensure that all websites remain:
- Secure
- Stable
- WCAG-aligned and accessible
- Performance-optimized
- Properly governed under IT standards
Responsibilities include:
- Overseeing content updates, new page creation, newsletters, and articles
- Validating SEO structure, metadata, redirects, and indexing
- Ensuring proper staging-to-production deployment workflows
- Confirming backup and restore procedures are functioning
- Monitoring Core Web Vitals and performance indicators
- Executing urgent minor updates independently when required
2. Hosting & Infrastructure Oversight
Oversee the AWS-based hosting environment managed by the external vendor, ensuring:
- Hosting account ownership remains under BDI governance
- Access controls follow IT-approved standards
- Cloudflare governance structure is respected (IT owner / vendor operator)
- GitHub repository remains under BDI corporate ownership
Validate and supervise:
- Staging vs. production environment separation
- Deployment and version control processes
- Backup retention and disaster recovery readiness
- Security monitoring and vulnerability remediation cycles
This role does not execute DevOps but must possess sufficient technical knowledge to supervise infrastructure decisions intelligently and independently.
3. External Vendor Management & SLA Enforcement
Own the day-to-day relationship with the Web Management agency.
Responsibilities include:
- Translating marketing needs into structured technical requests
- Monitoring compliance with SLAs (P1–P4 response times)
- Tracking incident resolution and root cause analysis delivery
- Escalating unresolved issues appropriately
- Leading quarterly vendor performance reviews
- Ensuring no vendor lock-in risks are introduced
- Enforcing accountability for security, uptime, and update cadence
4. IT & Cybersecurity Governance Liaison
Serve as the primary Marketing liaison with IT and Cybersecurity teams.
Responsibilities include:
- Ensuring IT visibility into critical alerts and security reporting
- Participating in periodic governance reviews
- Translating technical issues into business impact language
- Ensuring compliance with third-party risk and security standards
- Coordinating incident communication when required
This role is essential in maintaining structured collaboration between Marketing and IT.
5. Incident & Risk Management
Lead coordination during:
- Website outages
- Security incidents
- Performance degradation events
Ensure:
- Proper documentation
- Root cause validation
- Corrective action follow-up
- Escalation when appropriate
The Supervisor is accountable for operational continuity and structured response.
6. Digital Performance & Reporting Ownership
Act as the marketing counterpart to the internal data/analytics team.
Ensure accurate tracking and interpretation of:
- Website traffic and engagement KPIs
- SEO performance metrics
- Email marketing KPIs (open rate, CTR, engagement)
- Social media KPIs (paid & organic performance oversight)
- Manage Marketing Dashboard
- WhatsApp campaign performance metrics
Maintain dashboards and translate performance into actionable business insights for leadership.
7. WhatsApp Channel Oversight
Supervise the external agency’s management of WhatsApp campaigns, ensuring:
- Template compliance with Meta policies
- Deliverability and quality monitoring
- Performance tracking and reporting
- Alignment with brand and regulatory standards
8. Budget & Operational Governance
Support the Marketing Communications Manager in:
- Tracking digital marketing spend
- Monitoring vendor retainers and additional usage
- Flagging budget risks or inefficiencies
- Supporting annual planning and forecasting
Ensure operational investments align with approved business priorities.
Qualifications:
Experience
- 5–10 years of experience in digital marketing operations, web governance, or digital platform management
- Demonstrated experience supervising external digital or technology vendors
- Experience working in structured corporate environments
- Experience in regulated industries (insurance, healthcare, financial services) is a strong plus
Technical & Operational Competencies
The candidate must demonstrate strong hands-on technical capability sufficient to ensure autonomy and intelligent vendor supervision.
