POSITION PURPOSE:
The PMO Manager is responsible for leading, governing, and continuously improving the enterprise project portfolio across IT and Operations at Best Doctors Insurance. This role ensures that all initiatives are strategically aligned with organizational priorities and are delivered with discipline, transparency, and operational excellence.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Own and manage the enterprise-wide project and portfolio management function for IT and Operations.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Project Managers and Business Analysts, fostering accountability, professional growth, and high performance.
- Establish, maintain, and enforce standardized PMO methodologies, templates, governance frameworks, KPIs, dashboards, and reporting processes.
- Prepare and deliver executive-level presentations, portfolio updates, roadmaps, and board-ready summaries for senior leadership.
- Directly manage select strategic and high-impact projects, ensuring delivery within approved scope, schedule, quality, and budget.
- Ensure strong alignment between corporate strategy, the IT roadmap, and operational objectives.
- Partner closely with Executive Leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to drive prioritization, decision-making, and execution.
- Identify, track, and proactively mitigate project and portfolio risks, dependencies, and organizational impacts.
- Lead portfolio planning, demand intake, prioritization, and capacity/resource planning across the organization.
- Promote a culture of disciplined execution, transparency, governance, and continuous improvement.
- Maintain documentation repositories, compliance standards, and audit readiness for governed projects.
- Drive maturity improvements in project, program, and portfolio management practices.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Information Technology, Management, or a related field.
- 5–10 years of progressive experience in project, program, or portfolio management.
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing PMO teams, Project Managers, and Business Analysts.
- Proven hands-on experience delivering complex IT and operational initiatives.
- Strong experience working in matrixed organizations with executive stakeholders.
Certifications
- PMP Certification (PMI) required.
