Courier Driver

Duties

• Safely operate box trucks and other commercial vehicles with manual transmission to deliver packages across designated routes.
• Load and unload shipments using equipment such as forklifts or pallet jacks when necessary, ensuring proper handling of goods.
• Plan and follow efficient delivery routes to maximize productivity while adhering to traffic laws and safety regulations.
• Provide exceptional customer service by greeting recipients professionally, answering questions, and ensuring accurate deliveries.
• Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after shifts to maintain safety standards; report any mechanical issues promptly.
• Assist with warehouse tasks including moving inventory, organizing shipments, and maintaining cleanliness of the work area.
• Maintain detailed records of deliveries, pickups, mileage, and fuel consumption for reporting purposes.

Experience

• Proven experience as a delivery driver or courier, preferably with route driving responsibilities in a commercial setting.
• Demonstrated ability to handle heavy lifting safely and efficiently during loading/unloading processes.
• Familiarity with warehouse operations, including the use of forklifts and pallet jacks is a plus.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; experience operating box trucks or similar vehicles is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of local traffic laws and navigation skills to optimize delivery routes.
• Prior experience with manual transmission vehicles is preferred but not required; training will be provided if necessary.
• Excellent customer service skills with a positive attitude; ability to communicate clearly and professionally at all times.
