As our Accounting Specialist, you’ll play a key role in expanding our reach. You’ll be responsible for supporting the financial administration and reporting processes of Best Christmas Ever, ensuring accurate processing of donations, payments, and financial records. This role is critical in maintaining financial accuracy and supporting our mission-driven programs.
YOUR IMPACT
- Donation Processing: Process incoming donations by receiving mail, depositing checks, applying gifts to teams, and allocating employee matching funds appropriately.
- Account Support: Manage family and program payments, including Financial Peace University and Total Wellness programs. Respond to payment questions from donors, participants, and staff while ensuring timely follow-up and resolution.
- Accounting & Financial Accuracy: Reconcile accounts in QuickBooks and help maintain accurate financial records to support day-to-day operations.
- Audit, Compliance & Reporting Support: Assist with annual audit preparation, support IRS Form 990 reporting, and contribute financial information for the annual report in partnership with the Director of Operations.
YOUR SKILLS
- Knowledge: Consistent work history. One year of experience as a Finance Specialist, Accounting Coordinator, Bookkeeper, or similar role.
- Skills: Understanding of financial processing or bookkeeping (QuickBooks experience preferred). A commitment to integrity in all you do. A values-driven approach and passion for giving back.Strong organizational skills with a proactive, self-starting mindset. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Experience developing or improving systems and processes is a plus. A creative and bold mindset with the confidence to bring new ideas to life.
- Ability: This position is based in Duluth, MN. A felony/misdemeanor background check is required.
