Outdoor Plumber / Backhoe Operator

Job Summary:Best Choice Plumbing & HVAC is hiring a full-time Outdoor Plumber / Backhoe Operator to support our sewer, water-service, underground plumbing, excavation, and restoration work. This is a high-value role for someone who can both perform outdoor plumbing work and operate excavation equipment safely. The ideal candidate can dig, expose utilities, repair or replace sewer and waterlines, support pipe layout, backfill properly, and help complete restoration work professionally. Weare looking for someone who can be a problem solver in the field and help us reduce delays, improve job quality, and build a stronger in-house excavation and restoration team.

Responsibilities

· Perform sewer-line repairs and replacements

· Perform water-service repairs and replacements

· Support underground plumbing and exterior plumbing work

· Operate backhoe and excavation equipment safely

· Dig around utilities, sidewalks, streets, yards, and driveways

· Assist with trenching, pipe layout, bedding, backfill, and restoration preparation

· Support camera/location work and job planning

· Work with plumbers, technicians, inspectors, customers, dispatch, and management

· Help troubleshoot field issues and keep jobs moving

· Maintain clean, organized, and safe jobsites

· Protect customer property and company equipment

· Follow company documentation, safety, and quality standards

Requirements

· Outdoor plumbing, sewer, water-service, or underground plumbing experience required

· Backhoe or excavation equipment experience required

· Valid driver’s license required

· Ability to work outdoors in different weather conditions

· Ability to assist with physical labor, trenching, shoveling, lifting, and cleanup

· Strong safety awareness

· Reliable attendance and strong work ethic

· Good communication skills

· Ability to work full-time and overtime when needed

· Sewer laterals

· Water services

· Storm lines

· Pipe bursting

· Utility excavation

· Street openings

· Sidewalk restoration

· Trench safety

· Asphalt or concrete patchback

· Skid steer, mini excavator, loader, or dump truck experience

· Lead outdoor plumbing or excavation experience

Compensation and Benefits

· $38-$48 per hour based on experience

· Higher pay may be considered for lead-level experience.
