Job Title: Upholstery Associate
Reports to: Upholstery Supervisor
Job Type: Full-time
Work Location: In person, Cannelton, IN
Our Upholsters work in a fast paced, piecework hourly incentive environment .
Essential Job functions and responsibilities include the following:
- Use staple guns to attach upholstery fabric and padding to wooden frames
- Securing buttons, trimming fabric, adjusting fabric, folding pleats, attaching skirt
- Hammering of tack strips with hand tools
- Carrying product from conveyor to upholstery work bench and return completed product to conveyor
- Learn model numbers
- Learn what components are applied to each model
- Review upholstery tag to ensure the right fabric color is going on the correct frame to the customer
- Other duties as assigned
Job requirements:
- Repetitive pulling, pinching and gripping with both hands
- Maintain consistent work pace
- Must be able to recognize defective fabric or inconsistency in the fabric
- Able to work scheduled hours on a regular basis, which could include overtime
- Ability to work within a team
- Adhere to quality standards and safety practices as defined in the work instructions
- Possess willingness to cross-train on other jobs or lines as production dictates
- Lifting weight: 80 lbs. - maximum 45 lbs. – frequent
Education or experience required: High School Diploma or Equivalent
