Job Description:
We are currently seeking an experienced Logistics Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of one year of hands-on experience in logistics, with a strong background in calling on loads, negotiating rates, and communicating effectively with both customers and drivers. This role requires the ability to handle a high volume of calls, making at least 100 calls per day, and to write emails in a professional manner .
Core Responsibilities:
- Load Management: Calling on available loads, negotiating rates with carriers, and ensuring timely booking of shipments.
- Customer Communication: Engaging with customers to understand their needs and requirements, and providing exceptional service throughout the shipping process.
- Daily Operations: Conducting at least 100 calls per day, managing email correspondence professionally, and maintaining accurate records of all communications.
- Driver Communication: Effectively communicating with drivers to address concerns, resolve issues, and de-escalate frustrations in a professional manner.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Logistics Experience: Minimum one year of experience in logistics or a related field, with a proven track record of success.
- Strong Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with customers, carriers, and team members.
- Negotiation Skills: Proficiency in negotiating rates with carriers and customers to ensure competitive pricing and optimal service.
- Reefer Market Knowledge: Understanding of the reefer market or experience with produce season logistics is a plus.
- Problem-Solving Abilities: Demonstrated ability to think critically and resolve logistical challenges in a fast-paced environment.
- Customer Service Skills: Ability to handle frustrated drivers and de-escalate situations professionally and effectively.
- Bilingual Proficiency: Fluency in Spanish is considered a plus, as a significant portion of our driver base is Spanish-speaking.
