What are the responsibilities and job description for the Member Operations Supervisor position at Best Buy Health?
As a Member Operations Supervisor, your primary responsibilities will be to lead and support a team of Specialists focused on the overall claims and invoice processing operations supporting payor medical billing which includes developing and maintaining best in class processes and standards to ensure the team prepares accurate, complete, and timely generation of claims and invoices. The Specialists on the team accurately and efficiently enters partner referrals and member data into BBYH’s system of record within contracted SLA timeframes. You will serve as a subject matter resource for your respective line of business (e.g., Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, health provider and senior living) and you will lead and support the timely remediation of operational processes. You will be expected to use critical thinking to turn data into operational insights that can be communicated to your direct reports and immediate manager. Must understand and work within HIPAA, PHI and all compliance guidelines.
This role will be remote. The person who fills this role must be within a commutable distance to the Best Buy Health caring center in Novi MI, San Antonio TX or Reno NV.
What you’ll do
Oversee a team of direct reports to ensure preparation of accurate, complete, and timely generation of referrals, claims and invoices
Provide guidance and coaching to direct reports, set clear expectations, assign work/tasks appropriately, and track Specialists’ performance to provide direction to resolve open issues and assure progress toward goals/objectives are made
Supervise the team’s processing of incoming referrals and member onboarding accurately and within required deadlines while validating against required eligibility sources.
Supervise the team’s processing of demographic, contract, partner and service changes in accordance with contract and applicable SLAs (internal and external)
Communicate immediately with leadership on any issues, trends or reimbursement setbacks that may affect cash flow by monitoring accounts and operational reports
Basic Qualifications
Education: Associate degree or Equivalent Industry Experience
Minimum 1 year supervisory/leadership experience
Minimum of 2 years healthcare claims management
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with contact center technology, including Microsoft Dynamics, Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, health provider, senior living
3 years’ experience managing claims/invoice billing in health care industry
