Position Summary
The Sanitation Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and overseeing sanitation operations within the manufacturing facility. This position ensures that all equipment, production areas, and facility environments meet company sanitation standards and regulatory requirements. The Sanitation Manager supervises sanitation staff and works closely with production, maintenance, and quality teams to maintain a safe and clean manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Manage daily sanitation operations for the entire manufacturing facility.
Supervise, train, and schedule sanitation/janitorial employees.
Develop and maintain cleaning and sanitation procedures for equipment, floors, drains, and production areas.
Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and sanitation standards.
Conduct regular facility inspections to verify proper cleaning and sanitation.
Maintain sanitation documentation including cleaning logs, chemical usage records, and inspection reports.
Coordinate sanitation activities with production and maintenance departments to minimize downtime.
Monitor proper use, storage, and inventory of sanitation chemicals and supplies.
Lead corrective actions for sanitation deficiencies.
Support internal and external audits and regulatory inspections.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent (college degree preferred).
Experience in manufacturing sanitation, industrial cleaning, or facility maintenance.
Supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
Knowledge of workplace safety practices and chemical handling.
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the facility for extended periods.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work in wet environments and around cleaning chemicals.
Work Environment
Manufacturing setting.
May require evening, overnight, or weekend work depending on production schedules.
