Driver & Carrier Relations Manager

Best Bay Trucking is a growing transportation and logistics company seeking an experienced Driver & Carrier Relations Manager to support our Savannah operations. This role focuses on recruiting, onboarding, and managing company drivers, owner-operators, and outside carriers, while working closely with operations, safety, and dispatch.
Responsibilities
- Recruit, screen, and onboard company drivers, owner-operators, and carrier partners
- Manage day-to-day communication and relationships with drivers and carriers
- Coordinate driver onboarding, orientation, and documentation
- Ensure compliance with DOT, FMCSA, and port requirements
- Review driver applications, MVRs, employment history, and qualification files
- Support operations and dispatch with driver availability and capacity planning
- Communicate company policies, procedures, and safety expectations
- Address driver performance issues and recommend corrective actions
- Maintain accurate driver and carrier records in internal systems
- Serve as the main point of contact between drivers, safety, operations, and management
Requirements
- Experience in driver recruiting, carrier relations, or trucking operations
- Experience working with owner-operators and outside carriers
- Strong understanding of intermodal and port drayage operations
- Knowledge of DOT/FMCSA driver qualification requirements
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Self-motivated with strong problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Valid CDL (Class A preferred)
- Active TWIC card
- Familiarity with Savannah port operations (GPA / Garden City Terminal)
