What are the responsibilities and job description for the Computer Technician position at Best ATX Computer Repair, LLC?
We are a growing IT services company looking for a motivated and experienced PART-TIME computer technician to help us expand our business by helping our IT customers in the Austin area. As a computer technician, you will be visiting customers on-site or remotely to help with IT needs and issues that arise.
Responsibilities:
- Perform on-site diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance of computer systems, including hardware and software issues.
- Troubleshoot network connectivity problems and resolve network-related issues.
- Provide timely and effective remote assistance to clients via phone, email, or remote desktop tools.
- Install and configure operating systems, software applications, and drivers.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their technical issues and provide appropriate solutions.
- Educate clients on best practices for using technology and avoiding common problems.
- Set up and maintain computer networks, including routers, switches, and access points.
- Monitor system performance and respond to security breaches or vulnerabilities.
- Keep track of work through detailed documentation and ticketing systems.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in the IT field.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field preferred.
- Proven experience as a Computer Technician or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of computer hardware, software, operating systems, and network troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with remote desktop applications and tools.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical individuals.
- Relevant certifications (CompTIA A , Network , etc.) are a plus, but not necessary.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel for on-site support when required.
