Duties
- Implement individualized behavior intervention plans based on applied behavior analysis (ABA) principles
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) and promote independence
- Collect and record data meticulously to monitor progress and inform treatment adjustments
- Support clients during therapy sessions, ensuring a safe and positive environment
- Collaborate with supervisors, caregivers, and team members to develop and update care plans
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations when handling medical documentation and records
- Use behavioral management techniques to reinforce positive behaviors and reduce challenging behaviors
- Document all interventions accurately within medical records, utilizing appropriate medical terminology
- Participate in ongoing training related to behavioral health, special education, and behavior management strategies
Skills
- Experience with behavioral therapy, especially applied behavior analysis (ABA) techniques
- Strong background working with children, individuals with autism, or those with developmental disabilities
- Ability to assist with ADLs and implement teaching strategies effectively
- Excellent data collection skills for tracking client progress and informing treatment plans
- Knowledge of medical documentation, medical terminology, and maintaining HIPAA compliance
