Role: Operations Technician

Summary / Objectives of this role:
The Operations Technician plays a crucial role in pharmaceutical manufacturing by operating and maintaining production equipment, ensuring the quality and safety of manufactured products. This position requires a strong understanding of manufacturing practices, adherence to safety and regulatory standards, and the ability to work efficiently in a sterile environment. The technician collaborates closely with other departments to ensure the accuracy and quality of products, contributing to patient care and safety.
Work Environment:
The work environment is a cleanroom setting designed to maintain sterility and safety in the manufacturing process. Technicians work with specialized equipment and must adhere to strict hygiene protocols. The atmosphere is fast paced, requiring attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Team collaboration is essential, as technicians often interact with quality assurance, engineering, and research and development teams.
Responsibilities / Essential Functions:
- Operate and maintain manufacturing equipment, ensuring cleanliness and functionality.
- Conduct quality checks and document manufacturing processes accurately.
- Maintain inventory of supplies and assist in ordering as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory guidelines (e.g., GMP standards).
- Perform routine inspections and calibrations of production equipment.
- Assist in troubleshooting process deviations and equipment malfunctions.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
- May assist in training new staff members on manufacturing procedures and safety protocols.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Manual dexterity for precise measurements and manufacturing tasks.
- Ability to work in a sterile environment with appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Travel Requirements:
- No external travel is required for this position.
Required Education / Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 2 years of line operations or manufacturing experience.
Preferred Education / Experience:
- Associate’s degree in a related field.
- Experience in pharmaceutical or healthcare manufacturing is a plus.
- Experience with sterile manufacturing practices.
- Familiarity with aseptic techniques.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Team-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage time effectively.
- Valid driver’s license.

Compensation:
- $20 - $25 per hour depending on experience and qualifications.
