Supervision and Coordination:
- Promote and implement the district's mission and vision regarding co-teaching and inclusive instruction for students with disabilities.
- Promote and implement the department's mission and vision that all students can learn and make progress.
- Assist in overseeing special education programming, services, and staff.

Compliance and Knowledge Maintenance:
- Stay informed on current special education laws, disability processes/procedures, and Section 504 requirements.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and provide guidance to staff.

Collaborative Planning:
- Co-plan and co-lead monthly department meetings with the Director of Special Education for all related service teams and special education groups.

Student Support:
- Assist building teams in problem-solving for individual student needs, including student observations, data analysis, and team meetings.
- Work closely with special education coordinators and building administrators to develop and implement action plans.

Consultation:
- Serve as a consultant to special education staff and district administration on the IEP process, documentation, meetings, services, and resources.
- Attend administration team meetings as needed.

Program Monitoring:
- Monitor the implementation and effectiveness of curriculums, interventions, and programs for students with IEPs.
- Ensure interventions are effective and support student progress.

Case Management Out of District (OOD) Placements:
- Collaborate with the Director of Special Education to act as the case manager for a portion of students in OOD placements, including investigating programming and facilities, attending IEP meetings, arranging transportation, and addressing parent, student, and school concerns.

Case Management Private/Parochial Needs:
- Manage eligibility meetings, service plans, and 504 plans for students in private/parochial schools.

CPI Training and Support:
- Coordinate and implement Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training for the district.
- Assist with problem-solving related to CPI holds and ensure accurate documentation.

Social Emotional and Academic Interventions:
- Oversee and support MTSS including academic and social emotional interventions (PBIS).
- Supports administrators, sped personnel and teachers in the review / determination for providing interventions to students identified through Multi-Tiered System of Support.

Additional Duties:
- Perform any additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Special Education or the Superintendent.
- Advanced degree in Special Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field.
- Extensive knowledge of special education laws, processes, and procedures.
- Experience in special education program supervision and staff coordination.
