The Product and Quality Specialist is responsible for the problem solving process within the specific module/process in the engineering department.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the development of problem solutions (incl. containments) up to the release.
  • Provides technical or specialized guidance to internal process partner’s incl. risk assessment of technical problems in agreement with Center of Competence in Munich
  • Maintains the interface between the development departments in Germany and the US, in regards to any upcoming quality or release issues for both series development and launch.
  • Performs analysis of proposed design changes, e.g. line trials.
  • Coordinates design related rework.
  • Organizes plant analysis for development issues
  • Coordinates upcoming design changes and containments with launch and change department, logistics and supplier.
  • Presents the Module landscape to committees at the plant and group wide
  • Interface to all relevant departments and committees of the group
  • Complies with processes and procedures of the Plant Management System

Qualifications

  • This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering or min. five (5) years” of professional quality process/components experience in an automotive manufacturing environment
  • Project management experience working and managing cross-functional teams.
  • Very strong problem solving skills in a cross-functional team environment
  • Experience in advanced quality planning techniques including PFMEA, control planning, process flow diagramming, process auditing techniques, and PPAP
  • Interdisciplinary team orientation, flexibility w/persuasive power.
  • Conflict resolution ability, with excellent communication skills.
  • Presentation creation/delivery skills.
  • Business mind-set and ability to think strategically
  • Interpersonal skills and abilities to deal effectively at all levels within internal / external partners.
  • Sound analytical and organizational skills, structured working approach.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal (Business fluent in English)
