Responsibilities:

• Review and code outpatient and physician medical records in accordance with industry-standard coding guidelines and regulations
• Assign accurate and consistent codes for diagnoses and procedures
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines
• Collaborate with healthcare providers and other coding staff to resolve coding discrepancies and improve coding accuracy
• Stay up-to-date with changes in coding regulations and guidelines, and this knowledge to improve coding practices
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to optimize coding efficiency and accuracy
• Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve coding-related issues

Requirements:

• Minimum 6 months of experience
• Associate degree in Health Information Management required. Bachelor's degree preferred
• Certified Professional Coder (CPC or CPC-A) is required
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
