Position Description
POSITION TITLE: Intermediate ESoL Paraprofessional
FLSA: Exempt
REPORTS TO: Principal and/or ESOL Coordinator
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 185 Day contract.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and student-centered ESOL Paraprofessional to support English Learners. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a positive attitude, a willingness to learn, and strong communication skills, while maintaining strict student confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work under the direction of certified staff and administrators to support instructional goals
- Collaborate closely with ESOL teachers to provide daily intensive instruction for English Learners
- Supervise students to ensure a safe and supportive learning environment
- Assist with classroom instruction and student learning activities
- Support the collection, assessment, and reflection of student performance data to help guide instructional decisions
- Foster a belief that all students can learn and succeed
Qualifications & Skills:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
- Willingness to learn and grow in an educational setting
- Strong collaboration skills and flexibility when working with diverse student populations and staff
- Ability to build positive relationships with students from a variety of cultural and linguistic backgrounds
Required Credentials:
- Minimum of 60 college credit hours or
- Passing score on the Praxis Paraprofessional Assessment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bilingual skills are preferred but not required
