What You’ll Do

As a Commercial Lines Processing & Support Specialist, you will provide accurate, timely, and efficient processing and administrative support to our Commercial Lines team. Your primary focus will be processing policy transactions, maintaining accurate client and policy records, preparing certificates and other insurance documentation, and supporting our Commercial Lines Client Success Managers (CSM’s) with the day-to-day servicing of their accounts.


This role is a great fit for someone who enjoys working behind the scenes to keep things organized and moving forward, while also having opportunities to assist with client service needs. You’ll works closely with CSM’s producers, carriers, and clients to ensure that transactions are completed accurately, efficiently, and on time.

 

Key Responsibilities

Policy Servicing and Processing

  • Process endorsements, cancellations, policy transactions, and other service requests accurately and efficiently
  • Review policies, endorsements, audits, and other documentation for accuracy, identifying discrepancies and coordinating with CSMs and carriers to resolve issues
  • Maintain accurate client and policy information, activities, attachments, and documentation withing the agency management system
  • Follow up with carriers on outstanding, delayed, or incorrect policy documents and transactions through resolution
  • Process and deliver policies, endorsements, audits, and other policy documents according to agency procedures and established timeframes
  • Maintain compliance with agency workflows, documentation standards, and carrier requirements


Certificates and Client Documentation

  • Prepare and issue certificates of insurance (COIs) accurately and promptly based on applicable policy coverage and documentation
  • Review certificate requests and identify requests that require additional coverage, endorsements, carrier approval, CSM review, etc.
  • Communicate with clients, certificate holders, carriers, and CSMs to obtain information and complete certificate requests
  • Prepare and deliver binders, evidence of insurance, and other related insurance documentation

Client Service and CSM Support

  • Provide day-to-day processing and serving support to CSMs based on department workload and agency needs
  • Assist clients with routine billing inquiries, claims, endorsement requests, non-pay notices, cancellations, and other service needs
  • Respond to client communications promptly and professionally, documenting interactions and activities in the agency management system
  • Provide backup support for CSMs during periods of high volume, absences, or staffing needs
  • Direct coverage questions, policy interpretation, and complex service matters to the appropriate CSM or producer

Team Collaboration & Agency Support

  • Collaborate with CSMs, producers, and other team members to prioritize processing and service needs based on urgency, workload, and client needs.
  • Support office operations, including answering phones and assisting with general client inquiries when needed.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with carrier representatives and agency personnel
  • Identify workflow issues and contribute ideas to improve processing efficiency and the overall client experience
  • Participate in training and professional development to continue building technical and industry knowledge.

 

What We’re Looking For

  • 1-3 years of commercial insurance agency experience preferred
  • Active Massachusetts Property & Casualty license (required)
  • Experience with Applied EPIC is a plus
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and follow through skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy  
  • A proactive, adaptable, and team-oriented mindset
  • Commitment to accountability, integrity, and delivering an exceptional client experience

 

Position Details

  • Hybrid work flexibility, with the combination of in office and remote workdays determined based on the agreed-upon schedule, department needs, and responsibilities of the position
  • Part time schedule of 25-30 hours per week, with the schedule mutually agreed upon based on agency needs and availability, and the opportunity to increase hours in the future
