Berry Corporation (bry) has openings for Mechanics who will perform routine and non-routine maintenance to help optimize mechanical performance and operating efficiency of Berry equipment. They will be responsible to assist with light to medium repairs on oilfield-related equipment. Key Accountabilities
- Assists with the maintenance, service, and repair of natural gas engines and salt-water pumps.
- Troubleshoots, maintains, repairs, and replaces systems associated with engines.
- Verifies dimensions, specifications, and tolerances using blueprints.
- Ensures mechanical optimization of the engines, compressors, pumps, gearboxes, and cooling fans are functioning properly.
- Participates in multi-discipline teams and team-directed activities.
- Works with facility engineers providing input to optimize the systems.
- Ensures appropriate requirements and records are maintained.
- Responsible for ensuring appropriate requirements and records are maintained.
- Maximizes the number of repairs performed at the lowest appropriate cost.
- Maintains compliance with all safety and environmental regulations.
- Expands electrical trouble-shooting techniques and educates others on optimal techniques.
- Utilizes knowledge of production equipment to trouble-shoot mechanical problems.
- Supports and assists the members of the operations department as needed.
- Collaborates with both the operational and HSE team to effectively meet area and departmental HSE goals.
- Complies with all the Company's Safety and Environmental policies, practices, and programs. Takes corrective action within training limitations. Escalates as necessary.
- Participates in and adheres to all training programs designed to enhance HSE knowledge, safety standards and improve job performance.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma / G.E.D equivalent required.
- Two-year technical degree or higher preferred.
- Valid state Driver's License required.
- 0-2 years of experience in the mechanical field.
- Previous experience with gas production equipment, engines, or gas compressors preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Critical:
- Basic knowledge of production equipment workings, basic hand tools, and specialized tools and equipment.
- Ability to carry out oral and written instructions.
- Demonstrates a positive attitude and support for the company's culture and goals.
Required:
- Demonstrated self-motivated and able to work safely alone.
- Ability to perform routine maintenance, service, and repair of natural gas engines and salt-water pumps.
Desired:
- Able to provide team support and help others as needed.
