Assistant Professor of Accounting (Tenure Track)

Job Description:

The Department of Accounting and Finance at Berry College invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Accounting beginning August 2027. Rooted in Berry's mission of educating the head, heart, and hands, we seek a teacher-mentor-scholar committed to excellent teaching, meaningful scholarship, and preparing students for successful careers in accounting and related professions. We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in federal taxation and an interest in helping students navigate a profession increasingly shaped by artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies.

The AACSB-accredited Campbell School of Business offers a close-knit, collaborative environment with small classes, strong faculty-student mentoring, and a distinctive commitment to experiential learning through research, internships, LifeWorks (student work and professional development), and connections with employers and alumni. Faculty are encouraged to bring creativity to the classroom and to help students connect rigorous business education with practical experience and personal development.

Teaching responsibilities include undergraduate and MBA accounting courses, with a primary need in federal taxation. The standard teaching load is 18 credit hours (typically six courses) per year. The successful candidate will maintain an active research agenda consistent with AACSB Scholarly Academic (SA) standards. Professional accounting credentials such as the CPA, CMA, or CIA, relevant professional experience, and experience integrating technology into accounting education are especially valued.

Requirements:

Applicants must hold a Ph.D. or DBA in Accounting or a closely related field, and candidates who are currently ABD should earn their doctoral degree by the date of employment.
