Overview
We are a growing midsize firm with clients throughout the United States and internationally. We are in NEW office space in the Village of Patchogue! Seeking a detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join our dynamic team and looking for growth in the accounting fileld. The ideal candidate will possess a background in tax accounting and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Work under the Corporate Manager
- Conduct account reconciliations to maintain accurate financial records.
- General ledger accounting activities to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare detailed financial statements and reports that provide insights into financial performance.
- The capability to multitask effectively and the skills to work well under pressure in a deadline-driven environment
- Must be reliable with strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Team player with client relationship skills
- Utilize accounting software such as: Thompson Reuters full suite of Applications such as Practice CS, Ultra Tax CS, File Cabinet CS, Workpapers CS, Payroll CS.
- QuickBooks Online & Payroll, Microsoft Full Suite of Applications, and Adobe.
Assisting in maintaining accurate financial records for clients, including general ledger entries, accounts payable and receivable, and bank reconciliations as detailed below:
- Reconcile client bank accounts.
- Journal entries, including, but not limited to, payroll, depreciation, and the expensing of prepaid items.
- Process Accounts Payable and check requests on a recurring basis, review the general ledger to ensure consistency and accuracy of coding.
- Process Accounts Receivable invoices and maintain AR system records for clients: general ledger coding review for accuracy and consistency, process cash receipts on a recurring basis.
- Prepare and maintain supporting schedules and reconciliations for most asset/liability accounts and select revenue and expense accounts.
- Assist with the preparation and analysis of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
Skills
- 3-5 Years of experience in accounting and bank reconcilations
- Experience in public accounting preferred.
- Knowledge of Corporate Tax, Trusts, and Estates, as it pertains to tax implications.
- Expertise in account reconciliation processes.
- Comprehensive knowledge of general ledger accounting principles.
- Proficient in writing with attention to detail.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration or other related field.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to work in a matrixed environment.
