WH Burkley, LLP is seeking a Director of Operations to provide high-level administrative, organizational, and leadership support to the Firm’s Administrative Partner ensuring alignment between the firm’s vision, mission, values, and long-term strategy.
This role oversees daily operations across multiple departments, including Human Resources, vendor relations and Information Technology, while supporting legal and finance teams as needed. The Director of Operations ensures strong communication across the firm, drives KPI accountability, and maintains compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
This is a leadership role focused on execution, accountability, and scaling systems to support firm growth.
Qualifications
- Professional, dependable, and proactive with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
- 10 years of experience in legal operations, project management, or a similar corporate environment
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage, motivate, and support a team
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Excellent interpersonal skills to work across departments
- Strong ability to analyze data to improve operational performance

- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, operations, or related field
Responsibilities
- Serve as the central point of coordination for all firm operations, ensuring the firm runs efficiently
- Prepare and present detailed reports to firm leadership regarding operations
- Negotiate and manage relationships with external service providers
- Oversee human resources functions, including recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, payroll coordination, and benefits administration
- Provide hands-on support in resolving day-to-day operational challenges
- Assist with firm-wide projects and operational initiatives as needed
- Oversee maintenance and management of the firm’s office and properties
- Ensure the firm is properly insured and manage all renewals
- Develop, implement, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Oversee implementation of new systems, software, and vendor platform
- Oversee risk management and operational health of the firm
- Partner with IT to strengthen security and risk management in developing cyber security policies and training; data governance and business continuity and disaster recovery planning
