Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid role for a Marriage and Family Therapy Intern based in Newport Beach, CA, with some flexibility for remote work. The intern will work under the supervision of licensed therapists to support clients through individual, couple, and family therapy sessions. Responsibilities include conducting assessments, managing case files, consulting with colleagues on treatment plans, and gaining exposure to family law as it pertains to therapy practice. The intern will also participate in professional development and training opportunities provided by the organization.
Qualifications
- Strong Communication skills, including active listening and empathic engagement
- Knowledge of Family Law and its application within therapeutic practices
- Experience or training in Case Management and handling client records
- Current number from BBS or eligible to get one.
- Ability to work effectively in both in-person and remote collaborative environments
- Commitment to confidentiality and ethical practices in counseling
- Experience in providing culturally sensitive care is a plus
