The IS Mechanical Designer I will design mechanical systems, components, or assemblies using engineering principles.
- Works closely with project managers, engineers and contractors to create unique high-level concepts and designs for all assigned projects.
- Works closely with the team to ensure the successful execution of goals of all assigned projects.
- Conducts field surveys to identify existing equipment types and system capabilities.
- Produces design documents including drawings, system flow diagrams and architecture, wiring diagrams, construction details, and equipment scheduling.
- Delivers concepts and designs according to strict project deadlines.
- Contributes to all areas of the creative process and department.
- Performs work under direct supervision.
- Handles basic issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.
- Assist with the development of technical reports or related documents.
- Other duties as assigned or required.
Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications
- Associate degree in HVAC Technology, Building Systems Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- 1-2 years' experience with building construction, especially mechanical, electrical, plumbing, or automatic temperature controls.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and REVIT
- Strong technical skills

- Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree
- Building Automation System design and sequence writing experience - Preferred systems include Siemens, JCI, Honeywell, Trane, Struxureware, and Tridium
- HVAC Design and Commissioning experience - Preferred systems include Chilled Water, Heating Water, Condenser Water, and Steam
- Higher Education and Healthcare design experience
- 10-25% of time will be spent traveling to job site(s)/office location.
