Duties
- Help bring the van of fresh garden produce into town and set up the stand in a fast and efficient manner
- Greet customers warmly and assist them in selecting fresh garden produce, providing knowledgeable recommendations when needed
- Discuss correct storage and processing of vegetables
- Maintain accurate inventory by rotating produce for freshness
- Load, unload, and organize produce displays
- Ensure the produce displays are clean, and well-organized through merchandising and routine maintenance
- Operate phone app checkout with cashiering skills, handling transactions accurately and providing excellent customer service
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth stocking, merchandising, and customer service operations
- Pack up and return the van of garden produce to the farm at the end of the day
- Once home, there is potential to pick and pack for the following day
Qualifications
- Must be available to sell on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays with additional farm production hours available
- Ability to remain on your feet in the outdoors for long periods of time
- Your own reliable transportation to and from the farm
- Previous experience with produce sales is preferred but not required; enthusiasm to learn is essential
- Ability to lift heavy loads safely while following safe lifting practices; physical stamina is necessary for manual handling tasks
- Must be able to lift 40lbs. without issue
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in stocking, merchandising, and inventory control
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with customers and team members in a fast-paced setting
- Ability to work flexible hours on a part-time basis for a temporary assignment with a positive attitude and proactive approach
