Duties for this part-time position include enforcing regulations and ordinances pertaining to fire prevention and fire protection. Ability to inspect commercial, industrial, residential, schools and health care facilities for fire hazards and general compliance with Uniform Fire Code. Must be able to interpret fire prevention laws and regulations; compile detailed reports and testify in court when necessary. Instruct employees of private entities in the use of fire extinguishers and related equipment and teach lessons in fire safety and prevention in public schools. Possession of a valid NJ driver’s license and valid NJ Fire Inspector license required. Online certifications are not acceptable. A minimum of one year of experience in fire prevention is preferred.
