What are the responsibilities and job description for the Certified Teacher School Counselor (1-Year Replacement Contract)- Olentangy Berlin High position at BERLIN HIGH SCHOOL?
Olentangy Schools is seeking qualified candidates for a School Counselor (1-Year Replacement) position(s) available at Olentangy Berlin High School for the 2026-27 school year. This position provides academic guidance and counseling services to students, parents, and staff. Qualified candidates must hold or be eligible to hold valid and appropriate licensure (i.e., School Counselor) for each position with the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce (ODEW).
Employment status: Certified, 185-day employment contract plus 15 extended service contract days
Qualifications for the position include:
- Valid and appropriate Ohio teaching certificate/license
- Bachelor's degree in education from an accredited college or university
- Master's degree in guidance and counseling from an accredited college or university
- Alternative to the above qualifications as Superintendent and/or Board of Education may find appropriate
Internal candidates (currently employed by Olentangy Schools) must submit an internal online application in Applicant Tracking (SchoolSpring). NOTE: If you are an ESC employee, intern, off-staff advisor/coach, short- or long-term substitute, or student teacher you must apply as an external candidate.
External candidates must submit an external online application in Applicant Tracking (SchoolSpring) and complete an online Teacher Candidate Assessment. In addition, a letter of interest and current resume must be uploaded within the Attachments section of the application. The online Teacher Candidate Assessment is sent via a link under separate email cover. On occasion, the email may end up in junk or spam mail. If so, the link will be titled “Do Not Reply” with the subject “Regarding your Olentangy Local Schools application”. Keep in mind that the Teacher Candidate Assessment is a timed assessment, so please set aside approximately 45 minutes of uninterrupted time before you begin the process. Once the assessment is started, it must be completed within the designated time frame, and multiple attempts to complete the assessment are not permitted.
