Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging recreational gymnastics classes tailored to various age groups and skill levels.
- Ensure the safety of all participants by adhering to proper spotting techniques, equipment checks, and behavior management strategies.
- Demonstrate gymnastics techniques and exercises clearly while providing constructive feedback to encourage improvement.
- Foster a positive environment that promotes teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal growth among students.
- Maintain equipment safety standards by inspecting facilities regularly and reporting any hazards or maintenance needs.
- Communicate effectively with parents or guardians regarding participant progress, safety protocols, and upcoming events.
- Support the development of related activities such as cheerleading, climbing, or martial arts to diversify class offerings when appropriate.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in sports coaching, teaching physical education, or working with children in recreational settings.
- Lifeguard experience or certification is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to obtain certification is advantageous.
- Knowledge of gymnastics fundamentals along with familiarity with other sports like swimming, karate, judo, basketball, or cheerleading is highly desirable.
- Strong skills in behavior management to create a disciplined yet fun environment for children of various ages.
- Background in childcare or teaching martial arts such as karate or judo enhances your ability to connect with young participants.
- Ability to work effectively within a health club or gym setting while maintaining high safety standards.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate students and collaborate with team members effectively.
