Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Overnight Relief staff member to provide essential support and care for residents during overnight hours. This role is designed as a part awake / part asleep, on-call position, where staff remain on-site and available throughout the night to respond to participant needs, emergencies, or staffing gaps. The position supports both our main campus residential program and group home setting, depending on coverage needs.
This is a true relief position, meaning shifts may be scheduled in advance or offered on short notice to cover callouts or program needs. Flexibility and the ability to respond to last-minute coverage needs are essential in this role. This role is ideal for individuals seeking flexible, on-call overnight hours with a balance of active support and downtime.
Overnight Support & Coverage
· Remain on-site and available throughout the overnight shift (10:00 PM – 8:00 AM).
· Conduct routine overnight checks to ensure participant safety and well-being
· Respond to participant needs including wake-ups, illness, or unexpected situations
· Provide coverage support in the event of overnight call-outs or increased staffing needs
· Maintain a calm, structured, and safe residential environment overnight.
· Provide coverage at either the main campus residence (team-based setting) or group home (smaller setting) as assigned.
Monitoring & Communication
· Document overnight activity, incidents, and relevant updates in designated systems.
· Communicate important updates to morning staff to ensure continuity of care.
· Follow all BHMA communication protocols related to incidents and participant support.
Compliance & Safety
· Follow DDS, MAP, and BHMA policies related to overnight supervision and safety.
· Respond appropriately to emergencies, including medical or behavioral situations.
· Maintain required certifications (MAP, CPR/First Aid) as applicable.
· Uphold all health, safety, and human rights standards.
Overnight Staffing Structure
· The main campus residential program is supported by a team of four overnight staff
· A separate group home setting is staffed by one overnight staff
· This role may be assigned to either setting based on program needs
Qualifications
· Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities preferred
· Must be able to report to campus on short notice
· Ability to work independently and make sound decisions overnight
· Ability to respond to overnight coverage needs on short notice
· Flexible availability, including willingness to accept last-minute shifts
· Reliable, consistent, and responsive
· Strong communication and documentation skills
· CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
· Must pass background check and meet all state requirements
Pay: $18.00 per hour
