Job Description: The Bus Operator\'s primary responsibilities are to
safely and efficiently operate their assigned vehicle on a specified

Public Transit Bus Operators transport passengers over specified routes
to local or distant points according to time schedules. This position is
subject to drug and alcohol testing, including random testing, under
Federal Transportation Administration (FTA) drug and alcohol
regulations. Bus Operators act as a \"front-line\" customer service
representative of the Company. Bus Operators use good judgment,
interpersonal communication skills, and workplace knowledge to assist
customers with information, assure passenger safety, and to resolve
problems and conflicts wherever possible. To be a public transit bus
operator with BTM, employees must possess a Commercial Driver\'s License
(Class A or B) with a Passenger \"P\" Endorsement and without an
Air-Brake Restriction. Applicants with a Class A CDL, but who lack the
necessary Passenger Endorsement must be in possession of a Massachusetts
CDL Passenger \"P\" Endorsement Permit. Competitive Pay: starting wage
US\$24.92 per hour with progression to top rate US\$26.67/hour after six

with the requirements of 5310 MAP driver qualification standards. Have
reliable transportation both to and from work. Possess the physical
skills applicable to the safe and efficient operation of a
passenger-carrying public transit bus of varying sizes. Be able to meet
the minimum Federal Motor Carrier Regulations for age and physical
condition. Pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test. Possess and
maintain a valid CDL license with the required endorsements. Have
working knowledge of basic arithmetic, map reading and time telling. Be
able to communicate verbally to the extent of interacting with
passengers. Complete accurate, legible, and factual written reports. Any
combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from
high school. Possess or be able to possess a valid CDL, with a passenger
endorsement, and without an air brakes restriction. Be able to obtain a
valid bus operators license issued by the Massachusetts Department of
Public Utilities (DPU), this will be sponsored by the company if an
