Position Summary
The Facilities Engineer will supply engineering expertise to support and continually improve mechanical systems at BSM within the requirements of relevant regulations, cGxPs and the BSM Quality Management System. The Facilities Engineer will perform all work under the supervision and direction of the Senior Engineering Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities
Be the primary contact (Subject Matter Expert SME) within a specific discipline/specialty
Manage, install, trouble shoot and repair mechanical systems and develop detailed reports documenting all work
Handle intermediate level of complexity issues/non-routine problems based on analysis of multiple factors referring more complex issues to Manager
Make appropriate recommendations for modifications and upgrades to current and future equipment
Support/recommend capital projects and process improvements
Respond to notice(s) of system failures
Data collection and/or evaluation
Interact with vendors and clients
Support audit inquiries
Create drawings and operating instructions when needed
Perform engineering calculations when needed
Support operations and facilities as needed
Carry out all job responsibilities in a safe manner
Provide for the safety and well-being of operators, maintenance and other personnel
Other duties as assigned
Regulatory Responsibilities
Conduct all work within the requirements and procedures of the BSM Quality System
Supervisory Responsibilities
Mentor and guide less experienced team members within discipline/specialty area
Experience
Up to two (2) years pharmaceutical facility experience preferred
Education
Bachelors or Master’s engineering degree or equivalent extensive experience and training
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Proficient at trouble-shooting systems
Strong mechanical aptitude
Knowledge of common materials, engineering methods and process controls
Knowledge of design techniques, principles, tools and instruments involved in the production and use of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings and models
Experience with Microsoft Office, and general computer proficiency
PLC/Automation systems
Ability to work independently and as a team
Well-organized
Agility to working in a fast-paced environment
Good communication skills
Physical Requirements
Ability to meet gowning requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as required
Satisfactory audio-visual acuity.
Ability to sit or stand for prolong periods of time
Ability to walk between locations
Ability to climb stairs and ladders
Fine and gross motor skills to manipulate equipment and tools
